Pioneer: Acknowledgments and Copyright Information

Pioneer uses publicly available open source software as part of its tool suite. Any software that is distributed as part of the suite is done so in binary form. Any modified software is part of the central server code, and retains all original copyright information. Currently we are not yet distributing source code for this project.

This tool was originally written by Van Jacobson. It is now available with all standard installations of
Unix based systems.


pchar
pchar was developed by Bruce A. Mah, based on the algorithms presented as a part of pathchar, which was written by Van Jacobson. Details on pchar availability and use are available here. Information on pathchar can be found here.


ping
This tool was originally written as part of the 4.3 BSD OS. It is currently available with all standard installations of Unix based systems.
