Bro: A System for
Detecting Network Intruders in Real-Time
Bro, the IDS, was discussed during the workshop and many individuals
have asked for additional information. The URL above links to the
projects web site. From the webpage: "Bro is a high-performance
network intrusion detection system written by Vern Paxson of ICIR
and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Network Research
Group. It is described in a 1999 Computer Networks paper."
Editorial From the September 2003 Virus Wars
Joe St. Sauver, University of Oregon, wrote a short and interesting
article on the fallout from the September 2003 virus attacks. His

The REN-ISAC (Research and Educational
Networking Information Sharing and Analysis Center at Indiana University)
supports higher education and the research community by providing
advanced security services to national supporting networks, and
supports efforts to protect the national cyberinfrastructure by
