VBrick 6200 MPEG-2 Video Encoder/Decoder
Configuration Instructions

The following instructions describe how to configure the Internet2 VBrick 6200 MPEG-2 Video Encoder/Decoder units that are available to the Internet2 Member Community for short-term loan. In addition to these instructions, VBrick also provides a Quick Start Guide.

1. Enter the initial IP address, gateway, and netmask using the remote control. (Be sure to put batteries in the remote control.)
2. Hit "local edit" on the remote control.
3. Enter the password, which will be provided when the unit is shipped to you. Use the center button "select" like an Enter key, when you are done typing. Use "*" for the decimal and "clear" to erase extra characters.
4. Use "select" to confirm no DHCP and then enter the information when prompted. Use the right arrow key to enter a decimal.

When finished, you should be able to ping the box at the IP address that you selected. After this point, all configuration is done via the web browser (which needs cookies enabled).

1. The user name is "admin".
2. Enter the password, which will be provided when the unit is shipped to you.

Most common items to change are the inputs - DIN Mic or line level inputs, composite or svideo input. You might also need to change the destination IP address. Multicast is fully supported.
